People seem to wonder what I am up to all of the time, so I am putting my latest work project up this time. It is fairly interesting, so I hope you like it. If not, that's OK too. I am proud of the project, so I wanted to share.

First, the premise:
Sex Toy Parties are fun. It is fun to learn about sex and sex toys and then to be able to purchase them privately. Unfortunately, the party lady isn't always cool. She can be a little bit pushy and nosey. Also, she is always trying to "upsell" you into buying something more expensive. I really don't like that.

I had a different idea. My idea was to produce a website that is like a Sex Toy Party in place of the pushy lady. That way, you can sit and watch the whole show and you won't have to answer to anyone or embarrass yourself when you order something. It's a simple idea, right?

Second, the project:
We started with a little bit of customer research. We asked people what they thought of the Sex Toy Party lady and we weren't surprised to find that some folks (not all, but some) didn't like her either. Interestingly, even if people did like her, they didn't really think she was necessary. 41% of people would prefer to have her replaced with a self-run sex toy party. Bingo! I was going to do it!

Next, the shooting:
I am firm believer in a few things. One, I think you can learn a lot from a book. Second, I need practice to get things right. Third, there is no beating a good name for a website. For these reasons, I spent $10k of my own money on the name SexToyParty.com. I also bought a few books on how to shoot video. I had taken a video production class before as well, but I needed to freshen up. I read the books and practiced up while writing the SexToyParty video scripts. We hired a fun, funny, and professional comedianne to star in the shoot. It took a solid month and a half and the website was done. I am really, really proud of it, from the idea of having your own private party to the final execution.
